Spokane, WA – Communities In Schools of Spokane County and Communities In Schools of Rural Eastern Washington are excited to announce a merger that will deepen and expand our collective impact. Beginning July 1, 2025, the two organizations will unite under the name Communities In Schools of Northeast Washington, reflecting our enhanced ability to serve students and families across the region. Our name reflects our mission: to work in partnership with local organizations to bring needed resources to students and communities.

This merger builds on years of collaboration and shared commitment to student success in Central Valley, Cheney School, Curlew, East Valley, Lumen Charter School District, Mary Walker, Medical Lake, Northport, Republic, Spokane Public Schools, Valley School Districts, and West Valley. By consolidating resources, expertise, and opportunities, we aim to amplify our efforts to address barriers to student achievement and foster thriving communities.

  • Assisting high school seniors in creating post-graduation plans, whether they involve college, technical school, apprenticeships, or career paths.

Why We’re Coming Together: This merger is grounded in a shared belief that collaboration strengthens outcomes. By joining forces, we are able to provide regional services inclusive of rural communities, , harnessing greater funding, training, and resources. Together, we are better equipped to ensure every student, regardless of zip code, has the opportunity to thrive.
