After a rough childhood moving around all across the nation with a military family consisting of 9, Emily knew she wanted to change little lives. To do so, Emily graduated from Washington State University in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology with a special interest in child development. Shortly thereafter, she began therapy-based work with children and their families before working for SPS. After having the opportunity to conduct after-school programming at Shaw Middle School, Emily knew she wanted a big role to do more with CIS and the community. That is when she gained the chance to run the 21st CCLC grant at Cooper Elementary! Ever since then she has been in absolute bliss. She is avid about providing fun and nourishing program to all corners of the school, bringing in parents and families of the community, being a friend to all staff, having lasting connections with students, and so much more.
